Yuma County Sheriff’s Office Investigating Homicide After Fatal Incident on South Almond Avenue
YUMA, Ariz. — Authorities are investigating a homicide after a young man was fatally injured Friday night in Yuma. The Yuma County Sheriff’s Office (YCSO) confirmed that deputies responded to a residence in the 800 block of South Almond Avenue on September 5, 2025, at approximately 10:18 p.m. following reports of an unresponsive male.
Upon arrival, deputies located an adult male with severe injuries. Emergency medical personnel from Rural Metro Fire Department quickly arrived to provide aid. The victim was transported to Onvida Health, and due to the seriousness of his condition, he was later airlifted to a Phoenix-area hospital for advanced treatment. Despite efforts to save his life, he succumbed to his injuries.
The victim has since been identified as 24-year-old Michael Patrick Reiter of Yuma, Arizona. Officials confirmed that next of kin have been notified.
The Yuma County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Bureau has assumed control of the case and is actively pursuing the matter as a homicide investigation. Detectives were observed processing the scene late into the night, gathering physical evidence and speaking with possible witnesses in the neighborhood.
