The Sanford community is grieving after the tragic loss of La-Don Ja’Quan Williams, a young man whose life was taken far too soon in a shooting on Saturday afternoon. What began as just another day turned into a heartbreaking moment that forever changed the lives of his family, friends, and all who knew him.
On November 1, 2025, just after 3:30 PM, Sanford Police responded to reports of shots fired in the area of 14th Street and Mangoustine Avenue. When officers arrived, they found La-Don suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where despite every effort by medical personnel, he passed away shortly afterward. Another individual, also connected to the incident, was treated for minor injuries.
The circumstances surrounding this tragedy are still under investigation, and authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward. But even as justice is sought, the pain of this loss weighs heavily on the hearts of those who loved La-Don.
Who La-Don Was
