Asheville Community Mourns 32-Year-Old Tamara Eldridge After Fatal Crash
ASHEVILLE, N.C. – A routine Monday afternoon drive in west Asheville turned into a heartbreaking tragedy that has left a family in grief and a community searching for answers. Police have identified 32-year-old Tamara Eldridge as the victim of a deadly crash on Patton Avenue.
The collision occurred just after 1 p.m. in the 1500 block of Patton Avenue, a busy stretch of roadway that cuts through the west side of the city. According to investigators, a 2016 GMC Sierra pickup truck, driven by 35-year-old Adam Christopher Kane, veered across the center line and struck a 2004 Lexus RX330 SUV head-on. Seconds later, the violent impact was compounded when a 2012 Volvo S60 sedan crashed into the back of the Lexus.
Eldridge, who had been riding in the back seat of the Lexus, sustained life-threatening injuries. She was rushed to Mission Hospital, where medical teams worked tirelessly to save her.
