In Loving Memory of Summer and Treacle

Unfortunately, our stunning daughter Summer, just 14 years old, passed away almost two years ago. On paper, “two years” may sound like a long time, but in reality, it feels as though it happened only yesterday. The weight of her absence has never lessened, and our hearts are still as heavy as the day we lost her. We continue to wait for answers through the inquest — answers that we hope will bring at least some clarity to the questions that haunt us.

Summer was more than just a daughter; she was light and laughter bundled into a young life full of promise. Her smile could brighten any room, her energy lifted spirits, and her presence left an indelible mark on everyone who had the privilege to know her. Losing her so young was not only heartbreaking, but it also left our family with an ache that words can never fully capture.

And as if losing Summer wasn’t devastating enough, our heartbreak was deepened at Christmas when our beloved Treacle also passed away. Treacle was a companion, a source of comfort, and a part of our family in every sense of the word. To lose them both has felt like salt poured into wounds already raw and unhealed. The grief is compounded, and the silence in our home reminds us daily of what has been taken away.

There is a photograph — the best one we have of Summer and Treacle together — that has become one of our most treasured possessions. It captures their bond in a way words never could: their shared joy, their connection, their love. To us, it is more than a picture. It is a fragment of memory, a sacred reminder of happier times when both of them were still here with us. We hold onto it dearly, and we dream of seeing it brought to life, even in the smallest of ways, so that their light can continue to shine beyond the frame.

Though they are no longer physically with us, Summer and Treacle live on in our hearts, in our stories, and in our memories. Their love will forever be part of our family’s fabric. We miss them deeply — every single day. But we also choose to remember them for who they were: a beautiful daughter full of life and a cherished companion who brought joy to our home.

Grief is not something that disappears with time. Instead, it becomes part of us — woven into the way we love, the way we live, and the way we honor those who are no longer with us. Our journey of healing continues, but our love for Summer and Treacle remains constant, eternal, and unwavering.

Rest in peace, our precious Summer and sweet Treacle. You are both loved beyond measure and missed beyond words.
