Johnston County Community Mourns Beloved Restaurant Owners After Apparent Murder-Suicide
FOUR OAKS, N.C. — The Johnston County community is reeling after the tragic deaths of a husband and wife widely known for their contributions to the local restaurant scene. Authorities say 49-year-old Hector Meraz and his wife, 47-year-old Norma Merales, were found dead Wednesday evening in what investigators have determined to be a murder-suicide.
According to the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched to the couple’s property on Grants Way, near Lassiter Road, to conduct a welfare check. When deputies arrived, they searched the property and discovered the bodies of Meraz and Merales inside the living quarters of a shed located behind the main house.

“Due to family loss, we will be closed Friday, September 12 to Sunday, September 14. We will operate back on Monday, September 15 on normal business hours. Within a couple days we will have information about the service and burial time and place will be provided. We appreciate all our beloved clients, your prayers and support in these hard times.”
