Mt. Healthy Police Investigating Deadly Shooting; Victim Identified as 22-Year-Old Brandon Michael Grimes
MT. HEALTHY, OH – Authorities are investigating a deadly shooting that unfolded Tuesday night in Mt. Healthy, leaving a young man dead and a community shaken.
Police say the incident occurred around 8:45 p.m. in the 1600 block of Lakenoll Drive, a residential area located just off Hamilton Avenue near the Ronald Reagan Cross County Highway.
When officers arrived at the scene, they discovered a man suffering from gunshot wounds. He was quickly transported to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, but despite life-saving efforts, he was pronounced dead a short time later.
On Wednesday morning, the Hamilton County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as 22-year-old Brandon Michael Grimes of Forest Park.
The Mt. Healthy Police Department, working alongside the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, has launched a full investigation into the shooting. Detectives spent hours canvassing the area Tuesday night, speaking with neighbors and collecting evidence in hopes of piecing together what led up to the deadly gunfire.
So far, officials have not disclosed a possible motive, nor have they released any suspect descriptions. No arrests have been announced.
