Osceola County Deputies Searching for Murder Suspect After Fatal Shooting at Irlo Hotel

KISSIMMEE, Fla. — The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office (OCSO) is actively searching for a suspect wanted in connection with a fatal shooting at the Irlo Hotel, located at 5565 West Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway.

Deputies say they were dispatched to the motel around 1 a.m. on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, after reports of a shooting. When they arrived, they discovered a man lying face down on the ground outside the property. The victim, identified as 37-year-old David Donahue-Alayon of Orlando, had sustained a gunshot wound to the chest and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Following an initial investigation, authorities identified Shahzaib Ahmed Khan as the primary suspect in the murder. OCSO has since obtained an arrest warrant for Khan on the charge of Murder with a Firearm.

Law enforcement officials are now working to track down Khan, who they warn should be considered armed and dangerous. Investigators have not released details regarding a possible motive or the relationship, if any, between the suspect and the victim.

The Sheriff’s Office is urging the public to remain vigilant and to immediately report any sightings of Khan. “Do not approach the suspect,” OCSO cautioned. “If you see him, call 911 right away.”

The shooting has left hotel guests and nearby residents shaken. The Irlo Hotel, located along a busy stretch of U.S. 192 near Kissimmee’s tourist corridor, has seen law enforcement presence before, but this deadly incident underscores ongoing concerns about violent crime in the area.

Detectives continue to collect evidence, review surveillance footage, and interview potential witnesses as they work to piece together the events leading up to Donahue-Alayon’s death.

Anyone with information about Khan’s whereabouts is urged to contact the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office or submit an anonymous tip through Crimeline at 1-800-423-TIPS.
