Rochester Man Identified as Victim in Downtown Minneapolis Shooting
MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Authorities have identified the victim of a deadly shooting that unfolded in the heart of downtown Minneapolis early Tuesday morning. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner confirmed the deceased as 35-year-old Jermaine Jabaar Typray Barker, a Rochester resident known affectionately by friends and family as “Pooh.”
The Shooting
According to the Minneapolis Police Department, officers responded just after 2:10 a.m. on August 27 to reports of gunfire near 8th Street North and Hennepin Avenue, a busy intersection in the city’s downtown entertainment district.
