According to Sheriff Bell, emergency responders were dispatched to the crash site along Highway 93 near Post Creek Hill after reports of a serious single-vehicle accident. Despite lifesaving efforts from first responders and medical personnel, all four occupants of the vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene.
The Montana Highway Patrol is continuing its investigation into the cause of the crash. Preliminary reports indicate that speed and road conditions may have contributed to the tragic incident, though officials emphasized that the investigation remains ongoing.
“This is a heartbreaking tragedy for our community,” Sheriff Bell said. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of these women as they grieve this unimaginable loss.”
The crash has deeply impacted the Flathead Reservation and surrounding Lake County communities, where the victims were well known among friends, families, and neighbors. Community members have begun organizing vigils and gatherings in remembrance of the four women, honoring their lives and the connections they shared across Pablo, Polson, and Ronan.
Authorities remind drivers traveling along Post Creek Hill and other stretches of Highway 93 to exercise caution, particularly in areas known for steep grades and sharp curves.
Funeral arrangements for the victims are expected to be announced in the coming days.
