Teen Identified in Fatal Coon Rapids Crash

COON RAPIDS, Minn. — Authorities have identified the victim of a tragic crash that occurred Sunday afternoon in Coon Rapids as 15-year-old Isaiah Lewis Whitlock of Ramsey, Minnesota.

According to the Coon Rapids Police Department, the incident took place on September 7, 2025, at approximately 4:40 p.m. near the 3300 block of Northdale Boulevard NW.

Investigators say that Whitlock was operating a dirt bike along the southern sidewalk, traveling northwest. As he reached the intersection of Marigold Street NW, he swerved into the roadway. At that same moment, a pickup truck, driven by a 53-year-old man from Oak Grove, Minnesota, was heading southeast on Northdale Boulevard. The truck struck the dirt bike, resulting in devastating consequences.

Despite emergency response efforts, Isaiah Whitlock sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. No additional injuries were reported.

The crash is being jointly investigated by the Minnesota State Patrol, the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office, the Coon Rapids Police Department, and the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office. Authorities have stated that no further details will be released at this time, as the investigation is still active.

Whitlock’s sudden death has shaken the community and left family, friends, and neighbors grappling with the heartbreak of losing someone so young.
